Energy and vigor go hand-in-hand with being a young community and Gautier has more Community Spirit than any other city on the Mississippi Coast. Before Hurricane Katrina struck, every season the highway median's are decorated with interesting displays by Gautier Pride's Decorating Committee. Gautier's median displays were routinely recognized as the best in Mississippi at the annual Municipal Association meeting.
